Yoga can work as a natural therapy for the treatment of stress.
Stress is the body-mind’s response to the constant changes in the environment where we operate. It is the state in which the body comes out of normal homeostatic balance… how does our brain interpret the information that comes to it through the senses? How do two different brains interpret a unique reality?
These responses manifest themselves as chemical transformations that affect the physiological and chemical order of the body-mind and make it react in a certain way.
There are different types of stress with which we are constantly bonding: Fights or fleeing, what part of our body is activated for these actions?
The response is linked to the activity of the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic Nervous Systems, the brain and the respiratory system; these answers are important, however it is necessary to learn to make regulations that allow us to recover the state of equilibrium.
You can’t achieve a stress-free state but your excess can be harmful.
There is positive stress, there is negative stress, emotional stress, chemical stress, physical stress.
Thanks to stress we can be reading this information. Thanks to stress our civilization exists. The proposal of Manage Stress in this workshop, has to do with the possible management of this through the proper use of the nervous system, breathing and mind.
It can be achieved by practicing Asana, Pranayama and Meditation, obtaining effective and permanent solutions for stress management, rather than temporary and counterproductive solutions such as consumption of painkillers, which have harmful side effects. Asanas, Pranayama, and Meditation have no side effects and help change the bioenergy of cells and relax muscle tension.
